Congo Terminal has achieved another major milestone in its drive to improve operations, recording its highest-ever weekly actual productivity on large vessels (mother vessels). After setting a record of 67 movements per hour earlier in 2025, the terminal raised that figure to 99 movements per hour by the end of June, representing an increase of more than 47 per cent in just six months.
This achievement reflects careful planning, strong teamwork and consistent execution. The terminal improved vessel scheduling, streamlined cargo handling operations and continued to strengthen the skills of its workforce. These improvements reinforce its position as a reliable, efficient and competitive port of call for shipowners operating along Africa’s Atlantic coast.
“Actual productivity measures the net performance of operations after excluding stoppages that are outside the terminal’s control. It gives a clear picture of the efficiency of our teams because every vessel call is carefully planned and every movement is carried out as efficiently as possible. Reaching 129.34 movements per hour on mother vessels did not happen overnight. It reflects the daily discipline, commitment and dedication of our teams,” said Christel Anga, Operations Manager at Congo Terminal.
These results highlight the terminal’s steady progress and reinforce the strategic importance of the Port of Pointe-Noire in regional logistics. They also demonstrate Congo Terminal’s ability to perform at the highest international standards. The company remains focused on providing shipowners and shippers with a reliable, efficient and competitive terminal while supporting the economic growth of the Republic of the Congo and the wider region.
Congo Terminal, a subsidiary of AGL (Africa Global Logistics), is the exclusive operator responsible for handling containers and roll-on/roll-off vessels at the Port of Pointe-Noire. Through its public-private partnership, the company continues to meet the needs of shipowners, importers and exporters. Its ongoing investments have helped improve port operations, support purchasing power and contribute to efforts to reduce the cost of living. Certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISPS, Pedestrian Free Yard (HSE) and Green Terminal standards, Congo Terminal operates with modern equipment and advanced technology, including the Navis 4 operating system. Since 2022, it has handled more than one million TEUs annually, employs nearly 900 Congolese staff and continues to support young people, education and environmental protection through its community initiatives.
