Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has introduced the Afungi Shuttle, a new maritime service linking Afungi in Mozambique with dedicated feeder connections through Nacala and Maputo.
MSC developed the Afungi Shuttle to support increasing economic activity in northern Mozambique. The service will transport construction materials, machinery, industrial equipment, spare parts and other cargo needed for the ongoing LNG project in Afungi.
The service provides access to Afungi through connections with major trade routes across Europe, the Mediterranean, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and Southern Africa. It is backed by MSC’s extensive global network and established presence in Mozambique.
Customers can manage their shipments through a single MSC booking and work with one commercial point of contact throughout the process.
The service also includes dedicated feeder rotations between Nacala and Afungi and between Maputo and Afungi, ensuring regular coastal connections.
By including the coastal feeder service within a single MSC booking, the Afungi Shuttle makes cargo planning easier and helps customers coordinate shipments to Afungi more efficiently.
