ENAPOR and the SCOPE Africa project have strengthened cooperation on port security, operational safety, governance and environmental resilience in Cabo Verde.
The first SCOPE Africa Port Steering Committee meeting in Mindelo brought together ENAPOR, the European Union Delegation in Cabo Verde and key national stakeholders to review progress, discuss priorities and agree on the next steps for the country’s port sector.
The cooperation builds on a needs assessment and subsequent capacity-building activities, including ISPS Code awareness and certified training for ENAPOR’s Port Facility Security Officers and Assistant Port Facility Security Officers.
The meeting also saw the validation of the implementation roadmap and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between ENAPOR and SCOPE Africa, formalising their cooperation on port security and related maritime priorities.
The partnership supports efforts to strengthen Cabo Verde’s maritime infrastructure and promote safer and more secure port operations and connectivity.
The SCOPE Africa project is implemented by Expertise France in partnership with Enabel and funded by the European Union.
